Akin to Cloud 800, but with the addition of some Yak and merino, this yarn is like little grey clouds. The Yak provides the natural grey base, and colours dyed on top look rich and sophisticated. The yarn takes the dye well, and colours will spread on this yarn. Like the cloud 800, you can use a range of needle sizes.

This yarn works beautifully stranded alongside some of our other naturally coloured yak bases, especially Tibetan 4ply. The yarn can be doubled up as well to make a heavier weight yarn.

Baby Yak cloud dyed with Speckles

Baby Yak cloud swatches.

This yarn is exquisite. The soft warm natural yak colour gives a warm undertone to the yarn, and the speckles on this are super soft and look really natural. The yarn is a joy to knit and creates a soft Yak halo. The resulting fabric is super light and warm. This yarn would work well on a larger needle size than 3mm to create a more open Fabric. See below for it being stranded with our Tibetan 4ply. This yarn is strong and would work as a weft, it may work as a warp, but I don’t know how well it would work with alot of movement from the heddles, if you try it let me know!

I would use this yarn for lace shawls/cowls, light sweaters, and works a treat to add a warm halo stranded with other yarns.
