This would work as a warp and a weft for weaving.
This is called ‘Bright Sock’ due to the brightness the Tencel adds to the yarn. This is whiter than most of our other yarns and is a nice recommendation for Christening garments and shawls.
This soft and shiny yarn dyes really well with acid dyes despite containing 50% Tencel. The Tencel doesn’t take the dye, but the superwash merino more than compensates, the colours take on an almost metallic quality, and manipulating this aspect would be super fun. The resulting yarn is a silky shiny yarn with a lovely drape when knitted. Although a sock-weight yarn this is more suited for accessories and sweaters.
This yarn will probably not have enough elasticity or durability to make it a good sock yarn, so we do not advise using this as a sock yarn.
I swatched on 3mm needles which gave a beautiful soft fabric with a nice drape. It blocks out really nicely as well. Summer garments in this yarn would be gorgeous, or used for layering pieces.
